Bernie Stolzman and N486M

This photo was taken at Waukesha County Airport, Waukesha, WI sometime in the Spring of 1968. The Mite had an electrical system, note the navigation and landing lights. The Continental engine had 65HP internals and jugs on an 85HP case. That afforded an electric starter. The Mite was hangared at Timmerman Airport in Milwaukee, WI.

The aircraft was purchased while I was still a "Student Pilot" to build retractible gear time. While living in Milwaukee, my business interests were located in the southwestern states. Faster transportation not tied to commercially available transport was desired. That need led to the acquisition of a Mk20B.

The Mite was a pleasure to fly! I was sorry to learn a later owner ran out of airspeed on final while performing touch and goes.
