After a couple of years of restoring, and meeting a lot of new friends, I'm so glad I bought a Mite! It is a neat little plane that attracts a lot of attention and a lot of questions! My new friend Mike Thompson and I will be traveling the country and meeting new friends in the months to come! Mike was restoring at the same time that I was. He lives about 200 miles to the south of me and made his first cross country to my place. This could not be possible without our web master, Dave! He pulls it all together and accomidates everyone which keeps the site alive! Thanks to everyone! Woody

Pat:

The Mite owned by Lee was N481M. That was in 1967-68.

There is a link to a photo of the Mite on the Owners page. To see more, do a search on the Mite Site using the word "n481m".

I saw the airplane when its owner, Bill Shea, visited Porterville, CA very briefly in 2000. He said he had done a lot of flying in it.

The following year, he donated it to Sacramento City College for use in their aeronautics program. I've never been in touch with them, but as far as I know, it's still sitting there.

Dear Folks
My Cousin Lee Corviss of Clarksdale, Miss. Owned a Mite. Would any of you know anything about Lee's airplane. sorry I don't have the Numbers.

He passed away several years ago and had sold the mite long before that.
Any info you might have would be great.

Sam "Pat" Meek

Thanks Scott for the welcome and invitation to write of my experience with my Mite (N4156). Actually, I did write several articles a few years ago. They're in the articles archive.

The new website is pretty neat and comprehensive.
Congratulations, it must have taken considerable work on members' part.

I flew the mite during the early sixtys (N4156). Of all the planes I flew during my career, including military planes, the mite may be the one I miss the most now that my flying is nearing an end.

Hi Dave - Happy New Year to you and all the other Mite-iacs. I wanted to thank you for a surprise I received in the mail today. A letter came to me from Lee Farnsworth of Racine, WI asking about the current state and condition of my Mite N4124. Seems Lee had a love affair with my Mite from 1957 to 1973 when he sold it to my Dad. He stated, "A website listed you as the registered owner as of Nov. 2003." His local EAA chapter wanted him to write up a recollection of his years with the Mite and that prompted him to get sentimental enough to look it up. I will scan the letter and e-mail it to you. In the meantime, I have a lengthy letter to write to Mr. Farnsworth expounding on all the fun and adventures my Dad and I have had in "his Mite" over the past 34 years. He is 84 years young as he put it in his letter.
Regards - Joel
